Mango’s bacterial angular leaf spot disease is really a headache for the farmers. Most of the agrochemicals retailers know the methods of prevention and control, but times of spraying still cann’t stop the disease’s developing.
Following is the suggestions from us after the visiting to the markets:
Usually, to control this disease, we use following products by spraying or root watering, like Kasugamycin, Zhongshengmycin, Captan, copper fungicides, etc. But, by this way, can’t destroy the disease totally. After the application, the disease spots will become dry after 1-2 days, but the disease spots will turn bad again when there’s rainy or humid weather. This kind of method’s cost is also high because you have to spray many times with limited effect each time.
But why this disease is so difficult to control? The main reason is: The pathogenic bacteria hide in the Mango tree. So the normal spraying only kill the bacteria on the surface, not inside. So it’s easier to occur again in suitable weather. Another reason is this disease can be spread by the air. So if the infected parts of the Mango tree were not treated timely and carefully, the Mango plantations nearby will be affected too.
Following method is what we ever used and has satisfied result:
1: Products
Bismerthiazol 20% WP(Kasugamycin, Zhongshengmycin) 40-50g/15Kg water, watering to the Mango tree’s roots. 40g for small tree and 50g for big tree.
2: Application time
a). When do pruning and apply fertilizer, apply with fertilizer together;
b). When do branch control and apply Paclobutrazol, put them into soil together;
c). During the blooming and fruiting period, watering with fertilizer together.
We can choose to apply the products in any time of the above 3. But we should apply in the 3rd time above by the latest, or the effect will decrease a lot.
3: Control result
After use Bismerthiazol 20% WP(Kasugamycin, Zhongshengmycin) 40-50g/15Kg water to water the Mango tree’s roots, we can see the result in 15-20 days and the lasting period can be up to 1 year. It’s not easier for the spot to occur again in moist and rainy weather. Only one application is enough.
4: Strengthen the Mango tree’s immunity and improve the soil’s circumstance:
Different kinds of the fertilizers should be used in proper proportions like Organic fertilizer, microbial fertilizer, functional compound fertilizer, improve the soil’s circumstance, improve the formation of the crumb structure, active the organic matters of the soil, improve the beneficial bacterium, inhibit and kill the harmful bacteria, develop the nutrition supplying and lift the resistance of the Mango tree finally.
